CPC Modeler

The CPC Modeler is designed to support research and development processes. It is a desktop-sized CPC platform, which combines an intuitive method development engine with tailor-made semi-preparative chromatographic equipment. The CPC Modeler predicts in-silico, tests, and validates the most effective purification method of different Compounds of Interest (CoI), while also offering the possibility to scale up production. The platform offers a mg to g/cycle loading capacity and can purify all the compounds that the rCPC can, including pharmaceutical APIs and natural extracts.

The platform consists of three devices:

  • The Benchtop CPC: A laboratory-scale CPC device with a mg to g/cycle loading capacity.
  • The CPC Simulator: Software solution to predict and visualize purification outcomes.
  • Liquid delivery and detection devices: Fraction collection, detection and liquid delivery devices.

The CPC Modeler is compliant with a variety of standards, such as ASME/BPE and GAMP, CFR 21 Part 11. The sanitary design includes 316L SS wetted flow path, FDA conforming non-metallic parts. Electrical and safety approvals are CE/UK CA/NRTL.

rCPC

The rCPC platform is designed for pilot-scale purification tasks within a laboratory environment. It is ideal for all batch sizes, smaller or larger, or campaign type of research work, and continuous-batch production. To accommodate a user-friendly operation, RotaChrom offers a turn-key solution package for semi-automated solvent handling (preparation and recovery) upon request.

Furthermore, rCPC can be utilized as an at-line purification platform besides our industrial-scale purification unit. This means your separation needs can be executed in an orthogonal manner. A category of its own, the rCPC offers outstanding throughput, purity and yield, and does all that while remaining cost-efficiency.

The rCPC is available and designed to adhere to GMP regulations. The GMP-rCPC platform is designed and qualified according to Eudralex Vol. 4. All wetted stainless-steel components conform to AISI 316L SS with EN 10204 3.1. material certificates. Inner surface roughness is Ra≤0,8 µm. All other wetted components come with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 certificates, which is a must for pharmaceutical production.

The GMP rCPC has its own cleaning validation and cleaning process and comes with a software solution with qualification and testing documents available that are designed for FDA 21 CFR part 11 and GAMP 5 compliance.

Continuous CPC

The Continuous CPC platform is a continuous, multiple dual-mode, dual-rotor CPC platform. It consists of two interconnected GMP-rCPC devices, a preparative unit, and the control unit.

Unlike the standard batch operational mode, it enhances throughput with its continuous injection mode, allowing for more efficient sample processing and multiple increase in production, besides low operational cost. It’s highly scalable, adaptable to various sizes and requirements, and built with robustness in mind, meeting GMP industrial standards for durability.

The device incorporates an on-demand solvent handling system that can be tailored to specific industrial standards.

RotaChrom ensures that its device complies with cleaning validation and cleaning standards in line with GMP directives: The Continuous CPC is explosion-proof and suitable for installation in rooms classified as ATEX/IECEx Zone 2. The electrical cabinet comes pre-certified for added safety assurance. All wetted components are constructed from high-quality materials like 316L/1.4404 stainless steel or PEEK.

iCPC

RotaChrom’s iCPC platform is the largest commercially available Centrifugal Partition Chromatography instrument in the world. Designed for industrial-scale purification projects in continuous batch operation mode, this device is by far the most cost-effective industrial-scale chromatography platform available on the market. It has the capacity to process hundreds of kilograms of crude input material per month.

The iCPC uses similar technical features as our pilot-scale system, the rCPC. Nonetheless, it maintains the same resolution capabilities. Furthermore, the iCPC is designed to operate in an industrial environment. It is controlled by a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) unit, which enables system finetuning and the aligned functioning of multiple devices.

Throughput: 20 kg/day

Upon request, the iCPC can be operated as a standalone instrument as well as in clusters, or extended with a fully integrated solvent handling system.

pCPC

The tailor-made pCPC is a combination of the iCPC and a solvent preparation, recovery, and regeneration system. It also delivers a proprietary automated biphasic solvent system preparation platform, providing a continuous feed to our iCPC instrument.

pCPC encompasses a fully integrated production platform where complete solvent handling is provided beside the iCPC’s purification solutions. The system is controlled by PLC, and can be operated in a hazardous environment in compliance with existing regulatory requirements.

The scaled-up and extended system provides a versatile solution. The integrated solvent regeneration platform significantly reduces the cost of operation. Thanks to RotaChrom’s customer support and prediction tools, the operational cost, process flow and layout can be tailored to customer needs before installation.
