Drastic Cost reduction
The greatest advantage of the iCPC platform is that it does not utilize any solid stationary phase, like normal phase or the expensive reversed phase silica, in order to achieve efficient industrial scale mixture separation. In this technique, both the mobile and stationary phases are liquids and the stationary phase is immobilized by a strong centrifugal force.
Technical grade solvents
The iCPC system only requires technical grade solvents (instead of HPLC grade solvents) to perform industrial scale cGMP compliant precision separation. Only solvent mixtures like butanol – water, hexane – acetone – water or heptane – methanol are used to solve difficult separation problems.
Less solvent consumption
The iCPC system consumes 20-80% less solvents than conventional LC techniques.
95 % recyclable
Unlike traditional LC where only the mobile phase is recyclable, in the iCPC system both phases are greater than 95% recyclable. Additionally, silica gel is considered a hazardous waste making it difficult to reuse and dispose of in way which is environmental friendly.
No irreversibility detected
Unlike conventional LC, which suffers from irreversible absorption and denaturation inside of silica gel columns, there is virtually no irreversibility detected in the iCPC system.
